Robotics and urbanism. Two seemingly different topics? Not necessarily. That’s why we were happy to accept the invitation to join the international Erasmus+ project called URBOTICS. The main organizers are colleagues in Budapest from the Abacusan association. Alongside us, in cooperation with SEA – Agency for Education and Science from Slovakia, partners from Spain, Romania, and Serbia will also be involved.
In addition to issues of sustainability and the development of digital skills, great emphasis will be placed on ensuring equal access to these activities for children with special educational needs and children of migrants.
From May 8 to 10, 2024, we attended the first kick-off meeting. It was three pleasant days spent in the company of wonderful people, where we managed to open the initial topics and agree on the division and procedure of work. The project will last two years, and we believe that just as the start was inspiring, the entire project will continue in the same spirit.
The aim of the project is to provide teachers of children aged 5 to 18 with methodological tools for education in robotics. The main theme of the materials will be to foster a conscious approach to education and life with the challenges of 21st-century digitalization, environmental protection, and urbanization.
