GRAND OPENING OF THE MOTIO EXPERIENCE CENTER ŽILINA

In spring 2023, the University of Žilina and the Kia Slovakia Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation, which laid the foundation for the creation of a new science and experience center for children and students. This center, focused on movement in physics and engineering, was built by our company KVANT based on our experience from previous projects. A year later, in the premises of the University of Žilina, we officially opened the new Motio experience center for the popularization of science and technology in April.

The opening ceremony was attended not only by leading figures of the university, representatives of Kia, media and TV crews, but also one of Slovakia’s most renowned pedagogical experts – PaedDr. Jozef Beňuška. This event could not go without his charismatic and motivational speech, and he even treated us to a short practical demonstration of physics of pressure and fluids.

In the coming years, Motio will be available not only for children but also for older students and adults. Around 30 exhibits, carrying the quality of our now extensive experience, are ready for the daily endurance tests of children and visitors of all ages. Already, groups of pupils from across the Žilina region are rotating through the center.

The Motio center is designed to enable visitors to acquire new technical skills and to understand scientific principles in certain technical areas, primarily focused on transport and mechanics. But above all, its aim is to inspire children and young people to take an interest in science and technology, to support their logical thinking, and to deepen their understanding of how the world around us works. Motio will also serve as a venue for competitions, workshops, and discussions with scientists.

In this way, we add another invaluable experience to our portfolio in developing similar centers and exhibits, and we are already looking forward to the next opportunities to create something with the potential to shape how thousands of Slovak children perceive science and technology.
