How we presented the results of a successful project through a webinar and shared details about an upcoming technical competition.
In March 2025, through a webinar, we presented the outcomes of the international Erasmus+ project “Masters of Technics” to a broad professional audience. Although the project officially ended, its idea continues to live on – and in practice, it is being followed up by a new competition in creating wooden models, prepared by SEA – Science and Education Agency.
The project was created in response to the need to revitalize the teaching of the subject Technics and to reintroduce practical manual skills into schools. It focused on supporting technics teachers, developing students, and also on fostering inclusion – for example by involving girls or children with special educational needs.
Within the project, video tutorials, methodological materials, and interactive resources were created, which are now usable in modern teaching. The project was carried out in cooperation with Slovenia and Croatia, and the participating teachers gained hands-on training and new inspiration for their work.
During the webinar, the project coordinators, together with teacher Vladimír Kaláb, presented the concrete outputs of the project and shared real experiences from school practice.
At the same time, we used the opportunity to inform about the upcoming competition, which thematically builds on the project and offers schools a new challenge to further develop technical education.
Wooden Model-Making Competition – Upcoming Activity by SEA
SEA – Agency for Education and Science is preparing a technically oriented competition for primary school pupils, scheduled for the week of June 9–13, 2025. Its aim is to motivate schools to use safe woodworking machines and to create simple, functional wooden products.
Date: June 9–13, 2025
Focus: Team-based creation of wooden models with emphasis on safety and creativity
Ambition: To support pupils’ skills and create space for modern technics education
The competition will be organized under the direction of SEA, and its details will be communicated to schools in the coming weeks.
