The Firefighter Stairs Memorial is an annual firefighter event held in honor and memory of distinguished members of the fire brigades. This year marked the 25th edition of the competition, and just like in previous years, we were there as sponsors and as a presenting company. The main focus of this traditional event is a race of 55 firefighter pairs up the stairs, spanning as many as 18 floors. The competitors represent their fire brigade and, during the race, are fully equipped with firefighting gear, including an oxygen tank, mask, and helmet, in order to properly test not only their physical but also their mental resilience.
In front of the Vivo shopping center, we set up a particularly attractive booth that drew unusual attention. In addition to thermal cameras and new firefighting equipment, we also brought a novelty from our workshop – interactive reflex trainers. At these trainers, attending firefighters, as well as ordinary visitors and passersby, could test their reactions by competing in the number of pressed buttons or by catching randomly falling sticks on the ground. Those who managed to break records in catching sticks were rewarded with our delicious wine.
After handing out two cartons of wine, making new contacts, and entertaining dozens of visitors, it was time for the big announcement of the results of the competing firefighter pairs. The Firefighter Stairs Memorial is not just a Slovak competition – pairs from Poland and the Czech Republic participate regularly, and this year was no exception. The first three winning places were symbolically divided among the teams from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland. We congratulate the participants on their performances and look forward to the next year!
