On Friday 18.8.2023 in the building myhive Vajnorská, Tower 1 in Bratislava took place XXIV. year of the international competition Memorial – SCHODY 2023.
Memorial – SCHODY 2023 was organized by the Fire and Rescue Department of the Capital City of the Slovak Republic Bratislava in cooperation with the Sports Club HaZÚ Bratislava and the Regional Directorate of the Fire and Rescue Corps in Bratislava. It is dedicated to the memory of their former colleague who tragically died in 1997 while performing his profession. This year, three other members of the Fire and Rescue Corps, who unexpectedly left the ranks of their colleagues forever in 2021 and 2022, were also remembered.
This competition, a run up the stairs to the eighteenth floor, is completed by competitors dressed in full emergency response clothing and they must use self-contained breathing apparatus during the ascent. 51 pairs competed and, as in the last few years, this year a well-known pair from the Czech Republic won. For KVANT we were represented by our colleagues who presented rescue cameras.
